Where to Watch Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (2026)

Short answer: Frieren season 1 is on Netflix and Crunchyroll, but season 2 is a Crunchyroll exclusive in most of the world. That split sits inside one show, which makes it more confusing than the usual platform arguments — plenty of people finish season 1 on Netflix and then cannot find season 2 anywhere. The good news: both seasons are complete, so there is nothing to wait for, and season 3 already has a date — October 2027. The Netflix gap, inside a single show

Most ‘where to watch’ confusion is between shows. Frieren’s is within one. Season 1 sits on Netflix in most markets. Season 2 does not — internationally it is a Crunchyroll exclusive, with Netflix access limited to select regions in Asia (CBR). So the common experience is finishing season 1 on Netflix, searching for season 2, and coming up empty.

There is a useful precedent for how long that might last: Netflix US did not add season 1 until March 2025 — roughly eighteen months after it first aired. This is a rare case where you can start and finish without waiting. Season 1 is 28 episodes, aired across 2023 and 2024. Season 2 is 10 episodes, which ran from January 16 to March 27, 2026 — episodes 29 through 38 in the overall count, closing on episode 38, ‘Beautiful Scenery’, per the official account.

Watch order is simply season 1 then season 2. Season 2 is markedly shorter than season 1, so if you have finished the first, the second is a short commitment rather than another six-month run.

Season 3 is already dated: October 2027

Straight after the season 2 finale, the official Frieren account confirmed season 3, the Golden Land Arc (黄金郷編), for October 2027. That is unusually far ahead for an anime announcement, and it means the wait is a known quantity rather than an open question.

In Japan, season 2 aired on Nippon TV’s ‘FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT’ block, Fridays at 23:00 JST, with domestic streaming from January 17, 2026 at 00:00 across U-NEXT, DMM TV, ABEMA, Netflix and Prime Video — a much wider domestic spread than the international picture, which is the usual shape of these things.
